Getting to Know Hoor in Ten Questions:

  1. What made you decide to get into real estate?
I love a challenge. I always enjoyed working with people and wanted to be part of a dynamic profession where every single day was a new experience. I wanted a career that would facilitate the kind of gratification you can only achieve when you’re a meaningful part of someone else’s journey. It was then that I decided to combine my passion for sales, with my desire to work with people – and real estate was the perfect consequence.

  2. Where would we find you on a Friday night in Toronto?
As a self-proclaimed foodie, my Friday nights usually consist of trying out new restaurants across the city. The Ossington strip is my regular go-to spot and I also have some favourites in Little Italy, although you can inevitably find me ending my night at Bar Isabel for some late-night cocktails and tapas. I do love a night in, every now and again, so I could also be spotted on my couch, drinking Negronis, eating takeout and re-watching The Sopranos.

  3. Most embarrassing real-estate moment:
This actually happened to me very recently and was absolutely mortifying. I was showing one of my clients a gorgeous 3-story townhouse in Queen West with a rooftop deck. After spending 5 mins on the roof in 35 degree weather, we decided to head back inside to avoid heatstroke only to find the door would not open. After multiple tries and using my credit card to attempt to open it, I realized the door handle was broken from the outside. The listing agent wouldn’t pick up her phone, and we ended up having to scream out to people on Queen West to come rescue us. After 20 mins of yelling for help we finally convinced someone to come let us out. I’ll always double check door handles before closing any door ever again.

  4. Who stands out to you / do you most admire in the business world right now?
Jeff Bezos. I couldn’t live without Amazon Prime.

  5. What is the career philosophy / mantra / inspirational quote that gets you through tougher days?
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde

  6. What is your theme song?
I love working to Classical music, but also Lana Del Rey and Kanye. My favourite literal “theme song” is the one from HBO’s Succession. It makes me feel like I can take on the world (with high heels on).

  7. Describe your dream home in three words.
    Minimalist, Tech-forward, Huge Windows.

  8. Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself continuing to grow on both a personal and professional level. I hope to consistently challenge myself in the pursuit of becoming the best in the business, and for everyday to be a new adventure. I look forward to passing on my experiences and learnings to new realtors that enter this field and continuing to build amazing connections with my clients.

  9. When you’re not wheeling + dealing real estate, what can we find you doing?
Depending on my mood I’ll either be drinking wine and reading a book/painting/watching Netflix, or de-stressing while hitting some golf balls at the driving range. I’m also obsessed with cleaning and re-organizing my home.

  10. Highlight from 2019 and what you’re looking forward to this year?
Working with an exceptional team of realtors at PSR has definitely been my highlight. I think it’s safe to say we’re all going to pretend like part of this year didn’t happen #ThanksCovid19, but I’m looking forward to continuing to help my clients find their dream homes and optimize their investments. I’m also looking forward to travelling again – and being able to hug and shake hands.
