PSR Digital Handshake: Meet Wesley Cousineau
Name: Wesley Cousineau
Known Nicknames: No nick names, people either call me Wes or Wesley. I have no preference.
Previous Professional Life: I actually came from the construction industry, working a lot of different jobs. I worked out west on an oil rig for a while, did a lot of equipment operating as well.
Getting To Know Wesley in Ten Questions:
1.What made you decide to get into real estate?
I chose to get into real estate because the business world was always very appealing to me and I’ve always loved modern architecture. The main reason is because I knew a lot of the challenges that came with the job were out of my comfort zone. Knowing that this career would force to me grow and develop not only in the business world but personally as well.
2.Where would we find you on a Friday night in Toronto?
I don’t go out that much but I’m a big foodie, so when I do you can find me anywhere that has great food and great music. One place I love to go to that has both is a really good taco spot called, La Carnita.
3.Most embarrassing real-estate moment:
Oh god, this just recently happened. Long story short I was showing a unit we went into the wrong one, which was an absolute mess, and my clients walked to the back of the unit to check out the bedrooms and some guy walked out in his boxers and had no clue what was happening. It scared everyone in the room so we just rushed out and somehow managed to act like nothing ever happened lol. I remember having the worst feeling in my stomach.
4.Who stands out to you / do you most admire in the business world right now?
One person that I idolize at the moment would be Dwayne Johnson (The rock). I look up to him because he’s such an amazing entrepreneur. He gets involved in so many different organizations and companies, but the biggest thing I notice about him is that he is so incredibly passionate about everything that he does. To me it seems like he does what he does because he loves to, and not just for the money. The man also has impeccable style.
5.What is the career philosophy / mantra / inspirational quote that gets you through tougher days?
I don’t really live by a quote or mantra per se, I just remind myself to be 1% better each day and also keep my long term goals in mind. I know to reach my long term goals and build the reputation I want I have to constantly figure out how I can better serve my clients.
6.What is your theme song?
Oh this is a tough one. I can’t think of one single song that I would say is my theme song. I like a lot of different music, basically anything that sounds good to my ear regardless of genre so I pic my music for that day or that moment based on my current mood.
7.Describe your dream home in three words.
Modern, Open, Luxury.
8.Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I would like to be a reputable, well-established agent dealing in the west end of the city.
9.When you’re not wheeling + dealing real estate, what can we find you doing?
You can find me doing one of three things; I’m either cooking delicious meals and experimenting in the kitchen, golfing in the summer months, or playing hockey in the winter.
10.What you’re looking forward to this year:
I’m going on vacation in November so I’m looking forward to that. As far as business goes I’m looking forward to finding new ways to serve clients during this COVID-19 pandemic. I’m an observer so I also can’t wait to see how other businesses/society adapt and overcome these weird times.
