Getting to know ERIK PAIGE in ten questions:

  1. What made you decide to get into real estate?

After finishing my Master’s Degree at Dalhousie in Environmental Management, I went through a lot of life changes. My mom lost her battle with cancer, I was now back at home trying to get my life to make sense, and I took some time to myself. I knew I needed something different. Luckily, with a great friend and mentor to guide me, I started working with Zack Fenwick at Royal LePage to get a feel for the industry. The working environment and the opportunity to help people had me SOLD, and from then on there has been no stopping me!

  1. Where would we find you on a Friday night in Toronto?

Friday night would mainly consist of me and my boyfriend out for dinner/drinks with friends, catching up on any and all of the Housewives episodes we missed throughout the week, and/or watching our favourite show “RuPaul’s Drag Race”.

  1. Most embarrassing real-estate moment:

Once, I accidentally put the key in the lockbox without locking the door first, and then the lockbox wouldn’t open because it was icy and old. It was the coldest night of winter and my fingers just couldn’t open it and I had to call the agent for help. As you can imagine, the agent was not happy.

  1. Who stands out to you / do you most admire in the business world right now?

Jeff Bezos is obviously a stand-out. I just read Ryan Serhant’s new book “Sell It Like Serhant” and loved it! I think it’s a must-read for any relator. I also really admire my dad for everything he has done! It is very hard to put into words how thankful I am for his countless hours of hard work and sacrifice.

  1. What is the career philosophy / mantra / inspirational quote that gets you through tougher days?

From a person who has probably experienced one of the worst things so early on in my life, one of the biggest life lessons I learned from my mom was, “life is short!”. It’s easier, now more than ever, to be distracted and lose sight of what is most important in life; happiness & health.

  1. What is your theme song?

Oh dear this is so hard! My true theme song is the “Star Wars” theme by John Williams, but if I had to pick an actual song, like my karaoke song, it would be “Blame It On The Boogie” – by The Jacksons.

  1. Describe your dream home in three words.

I would have to say: clean, cozy and company! I’m obsessed with being clean, love to cuddle-up with a blanket and wine on the couch, and a house is not a home if you aren’t surrounded by the people you love.

  1. Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself continuing to grow my business at PSR. I also envision myself having a dog, maybe two, as my boyfriend and I cannot decide on a breed. Perhaps I hear some wedding bells around that time *wink*, and starting a family.

  1. When you’re not wheeling + dealing real estate, what can we find you doing?

You would likely find me either in the gym at the Rosedale Club, running errands around Yorkville or enjoying a weekend up north in the Muskoka’s.

  1. Highlight of 2019 so far:

Joining PSR Brokerage has been an absolute highlight of 2019 so far! Spent a winter-wonderland weekend up north which was so relaxing. I also threw my best friend a ‘Champagne Birthday’ that was so fun!
