Getting to know Leah MacStravick in ten questions:
1. What made you decide to get into real estate?
Getting into real estate was an easy decision for me. In 2012, I was in the middle of my undergrad degree and I had the opportunity to pick up a part-time receptionist job at a brokerage in Oakville. I loved the people, the hustle and bustle of real estate… and the rest is history!
2. Where would we find you on a Friday night in Toronto?
When I’m not busy with work, in the summer there’s a good chance you’ll find me on a patio downtown with my friends or parked on the 400 trying to get to the cottage. In the winter, you’ll most likely find me hanging out at home with my boyfriend and dog (Pepper the Frenchie), likely watching an unhealthy amount of Netflix.
3. Most embarrassing real-estate moment:
Since becoming a realtor, nothing as of yet comes to mind. But there was one time when I left a voicemail for a seller while working front desk (it was my first time leaving a voicemail of this kind). I was trying to confirm an appointment and I completely forgot what I was supposed to say and butchered the call, haha. The poor girl training me had to mouth the words as I said them… Which as you can imagine, sounded super normal and definitely not like a robot with the hiccups. Safe to say, I made sure to rehearse everything in my head a thousand times before I picked up the phone again!
4. Who stands out to you / do you most admire in the business world right now?
5. What is the career philosophy / mantra / inspirational quote that gets you through tougher days?
The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
6. What is your theme song?
Unwritten – Natasha Bedingfield.
7. Describe your dream home in three words.
Character, open-concept, technologically advanced.
8. Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself growing and learning immensely as a realtor and working as hard as I can to live a comfortable and happy life. As the years pass I also hope to make traveling a priority.
9. When you’re not wheeling + dealing real estate, what can we find you doing?
Nine times out of ten I’ll be catching up on a show and forcing my pup to cuddle with me. Or, checking out concerts/shows in the city, doing something fun up north or escaping the winter to Naples, Florida!
10. Highlight of 2017:
Moving to the Beaches with my boyfriend, and of course joining PSR!
