Getting to know Kristin Reed in 10 questions:

1. What made you decide to get into real estate?

I would say that real estate found me! I was working for a big player in the financial world and looking to switch things up in a pretty major way, career-wise. More than anything I was looking for a role that felt right to me, more so than an industry. When I learned more about the marketing role at PSR, I was piqued by the challenge of learning the ins and outs of an industry I had never worked within. I believed that my professional skill set and background would be an asset for the role, and I’m so grateful that PSR felt the same way when they decided to hire me. The rest is history.

2. Where would we find you on a Friday night in Toronto?

Depends on the season. In the summer, on Friday nights you can find me on the highway belting out songs I don’t know the words to on the radio, while en route up to my family cottage. Otherwise, you’ll definitely find me with a glass of wine either at home or at a restaurant within the neighbourhood, catching up with friends.

3. Most embarrassing real-estate moment:

So many, where to start… This past summer I was assisting a team of our agents launch a luxury housing development uptown and was asked by the selling team to tour clients around the three beautiful residences. There was a huge turnout at the launch and I found myself touring a lovely couple throughout all three homes, which were right next to each other. We left one house to go to see the next and crossed a small grassy lawn dividing them, which resulted in me executing a hilarious, opposite of graceful, foot-to-sky-to-straight-on-my ass comedic wipeout on the lawn. The couple were SO nice and I was fine, but what I didn’t notice (until I got home later that night) was that I had bits of grass and mud all over my butt. Classy (slash grassy), to say the least.

4. Who stands out to you / do you most admire in the business world right now?

Jenna Lyons. Fashion Killa.

5. What is the career philosophy / mantra / inspirational quote that gets you through tougher days?

“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” – e.e. cummings.

6. What is your theme song?

Superstition – Stevie Wonder.

7. Describe your dream home in 3 words.

Open, comfortable, all-in-the-details.

8. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

The other day I saw this gorgeous older woman walking down the street with her two dogs in this amazing long black fur jacket and giant oversized sunglasses, taking in a beautiful day and looking overall etherial. You might think I’m describing Cruella de Vil but I promise I’m not. I think I’d like to aim for that to be my end goal – happy, out and about, dogs, taking a moment to stop and smell the roses. But I mean realistically, in five years I’ll definitely still be nose to grind, taking in and learning as much as I can while working my way up the corporate ladder (but hopefully better travelled).

9. When you’re not wheeling + dealing real estate marketing PSR, what can we find you doing?

Dockside at the cottage, checking out new restos/cool stuff going on in the city, or at home, filling my online shopping cart with a million things and then panicking and closing the browser. Take your pick.

10. Highlight of 2017 so far:

2017 is still pretty fresh, so I’d say I’m most excited for us to move into our brand-spankin’ new PSR HQ in a few short weeks! Other than that, I’m pretty excited for anything and everything 2017 has in store for me.
